1,148 air traffic movements at VIA in October

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has stated that a total of 1,148 air traffic movements were recorded at Velana International Airport last month. 

Statistics by MACL show that 468 international schedule movements were recorded in October while 172 international general movements were also recorded. 

MACL said that 25,273 arrivals were recorded at VIA in October while 22,496 departures were also recorded. 247 arrivals were recorded as international general movement while 332 departures were recorded as an international general movement. 

In terms of domestic operations, 476 scheduled aviation movements were recorded in October while 32 were recorded as general aviation movements. 

The Maldives officially reopened its borders on July 15, after nearly four months in lockdown due to COVID-19.
