The national bank, Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced a profit after tax of 258.6 million for the third quarter of this year.
The Q3 financial report released by BML shows the MVR 258.6 million generated by the bank as profit after tax is a 15 percent higher than in Q3 last year, when the bank had generated MVR 224.4 million.
BML generated MVR 646 million as income in Q3 this year, which was also higher than the MVR 639 million the bank generated as income in Q3 last year.
The bank reduced its expenditures from MVR 125 million in Q3 last year to MVR 117 million in Q3 this year.
With the MVR 685 million in Q1, MVR 551 million in Q2 and MVR 646 million as income in Q3, BML has generated MVR 1.8 billion in income during the first three quarters of this year.
