COVID-19 PCR results required for travel to Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan government has made the decision to require all international travelers to produce proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours.

The restriction took effect on Thursday, October 15.

Mohamed Firaq, Managing Director of Ace Aviation - SriLankan Airlines’ General Sales Agent in Maldives – told Sun that PCR tests are now required by Sri Lanka for both international arrivals and international departures.

“This is a decision by Sri Lanka. Both those who travel to Lanka and depart from Lanka are required to produce the results of a PCR test taken within 72 hours,” he said.

Since Maldives reopened its borders on July 15, SriLankan Airlines has been holding three weekly flights between Male’ and Colombo.

The flights are on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
