Criminal Court judge Ibrahim Ali resigns

Criminal Court judge Ibrahim Ali has resigned after the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) forwarded his dismissal from the court to the Parliament. 

Sun has confirmed that Judge Ali had submitted his letter of resignation. 

Judge Ali said that his dismissal was baseless and that he had not attempted to delay the release of detainees after the High Court ordered so following a review of the case.

He said that the delay was due to administrative issues of the court, which the JSC did not take into account before forwarding his dismissal. 

Judge Ali was under a 60-day suspension when he resigned.
