Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code stating that a court order or a pre-trial order by a court is to be decided within seven days of being appealed.
The amendments were passed with the vote of 59 MPs.
The current procedure does not state a specific time period for court orders to be appealed. As a result, appeals in such cases often take a long time.
Appeals for sentences were also extended to 60 days from the current 30-day period.
The appeal period for court orders or pre-trial orders can be appealed within ten days of the ruling. The appeal for the state is however different. In the amendments, state prosecution has 48 hours to appeal in such matters.
