EC announces changes to services due to COVID-19 case increase

Elections Commission has announced that it will no longer be providing services that require customers to attend the office in person.

A statement issued by the Commission today read that the increase in COVID-19 cases had led the Commission to take the measures. General services provided by the Commission would be provided email and e-government portal (GEMS) starting from August 4. 

The official hours of the Commission will be from 9:00 to 13:00 starting from tomorrow. The Commission requested any complaints regarding service delays to be communicated with Secretary-General Hassan Zakarriya via text message on 9867422.

The Commission also called on the public to adhere to the safety measures by authorities to curb the spread of the virus.
