The Women’s Community Group of Ihavandhoo (IWGC) has held a virtual Madhaha competition for children who were confined to their homes due to COVID-19.
The competition was named as “IWCG Kokkomenge Madhaha Competition 2020” was held with the purpose of increasing curiosity and interest among children for religious poetry and showcase their talents, said the IWGC.
The competition was also held to bring beneficial changes to the well-being of children who are encouraged to stay at home due to COVID-19.
The competition was held for three age groups. They are three-years, five-years, five-seven years, and seven-nine years. Children with disabilities also took part in the competition.
The main sponsor of the competition was the Ihavandhoo Home Collection. Co=sponsors include Habeys Bodu Beru, Ran Kunaa, Hama Roalhi Kuri, Sea King, and Poise. Technical partners include ASP Studio as well.
The winner of the competition would have the chance to record a madhaha for the Habeys Boduberu Group’s album.

5-7 years
7-9 years
First place from the whole competition was won by Mariyam Midhuha Haashim Mohamed.
