Banks will be open three days next week

Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), on Thursday, announced that following the extension of the closure of government offices for another week, banks will be open three days next week.

The government had announced the decision to close government offices, schools and other educational institutions for another week, from April 12 to 16, on Wednesday.

MMA announced this morning that the central bank and commercial banks will be open on three days during the period; on April 13, 14, and 16.

The central bank will process bank notes on the three days from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and process coins from 9:30 am to 11 am.

The central bank will accept communications from institutions which use the Government e-Letter Management System (GEMS), and members of the general public via its email [email protected].
