Two more people who had previously tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered from the illness, bringing total virus recoveries in Maldives to 11, and the number of active virus cases down to 3.
The new recoveries were announced in a press conference at the National Emergency Operations Center on Saturday afternoon by Dr. Muaz Moosa.
He did not disclose any further details.
At the press conference, government spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez said the other three virus patients were in stable condition.
One is a Maldivian national who tested positive for the virus on Friday, who recently returned to Maldives from the UK, and the others are foreign nationals.
Maldives has tested 880 samples so far, 860 of which have tested negative.
Meanwhile, three resorts and one safari is being monitored over possible virus cases; Filitheyo Island Resort, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, the Residence Maldives at Dhigurah, and Ark Nobel Safari.
16 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives; including two Italian nationals whose test results were received after they boarded a plane back to Italy on Friday.
