Stepfather arrested for sexually abusing daughter

Police have arrested a man accused of sexually abusing his stepdaughter on an island in the north-central division of the Maldives.

The case was reported around 21:20 last night and involved a 17-year old girl who was abused by her stepfather. The man, aged 32, was arrested under a court order around 9:50 today.

The number of such cases reported in the country has significantly increased in 2020.
