Health Minister Abdulla Ameen inaugurated laboratory services to the Innamaadhoo health center in R. Atoll yesterday.
The equipment for the laboratory services was established on January 18, 2020. Residents of Innamaadhoo, which has a population of nearly 900 people, previously had to travel to R. Ungoofaaru for laboratory services, which is an hour away.
Health Ministry noted that the introduction of lab services would bring a lot of convenience to islanders of Innamaadhoo. The laboratory in the Innamaadhoo health center was built by the council and companies and houses modern machinery.
Laboratory services are now available in nine islands of R. Atoll. They are Innamaadhoo, Inguraidhoo, Meedhoo, Maduvvari, Hulhudhuffaaru, Dhuvaafaru, Alifushi, Ungoofaaru and, Rasgetheemu.
