Education Ministry has announced that it will be changing the school holiday policies and reverting to the school schedule where holidays were scheduled twice in the academic year.

The change means that from May 31, 2020, to June 11, 2020, will be the first term holidays. From December 6, 2020, to January 7, 2020, it will be the year-end holidays.

The Ministry stated that the reasons were so that parents who faced difficulties in talking holidays from work such as resort employees would get the opportunity to spend holidays with their family. The tourist season which begins in December restricts such employees from taking holidays due to the busy work schedule.
