Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed, Judge Adam suspended, dismissals to be sent to Parliament

The Judicial Service Commission has decided to recommend that the Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi and Judge Adam Mohamed Abdulla be removed from their posts on the Supreme Court bench to the Parliament.

A statement issued by the JSC after a meeting today stated that the Chief Justice and Judge in question had conducted themselves in a manner that was not of the expected standard of judges. The two judges have now been suspended by the JSC and the Commission will soon be submitting their removal to the Parliament.

"The investigative committee of the JSC has found the Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi and Judge Adam Mohamed responsible of carrying out acts that violated the set standards for judges in article 154 (B) of the constitution, leading the JSC to recommend to the Parliament for their dismissal." read the statement by the Commission.
