French journalists in Maldives on latest FAM trip

A team of French journalists have arrived in Maldives at the invitation of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to boost Maldives’ exposure as a tourist destination in France by reaching a wider audience through a special focus on what Maldives as to offer in terms of wellness.

The French media group is the 17th group to arrive in the Maldives as part of a series of familiarization trips organized by MMPRC.

They arrived last Wednesday, November 6, and are scheduled to stay in Maldives until November 13, during which time they will explore the underwater beauty of Maldives through snorkeling and diving excursions, and partake in wellness options such as yoga and spa facilities.

They will also be taken on a cruise trip in a yacht.

The French journalists will be primarily hosted at Velassaru Maldives, Huvafen Fushi Maldives, Kandima Maldives, and on a vessel provided by Yacht Maldives.

The group is made up of journalists from Nice Martin, Paris Match, TimeOut, L’Officiel and Marie France.fr.; and will feature their experience in Maldives on media platforms, as well as in articles and photographs on their respective publications.

France is ranked the seventh highest performing source markets in the Maldivian tourism industry.

44,792 French tourists are recorded to have visited Maldives from January to September – a 21 percent increase compared to the same period of 2018.

MMPRC reports it hopes to reach a wider audience in markets through its series of FAM trips to promote Maldives as a tourist destination.
