The massive fire in a crowded neighborhood of Male’ city last month caused damage worth MVR 1 Million, according to the Disaster Management Authority.
A statement by the Authority today read that the damage accounted for the household items affected by the fire and that the assessment of the houses damaged was nearly complete. The assessment includes the damage caused to the buildings in addition to the household items.
The assessment covered 18 houses and 92 households and totals MVR 1.03 Million with 41 households damaged heavily. Nearly 31 houses were assessed totally and three houses are still being further assessed, according to Police.
