Elderly women attacked in a mugging in Addu city

An elderly woman was attacked with a knife in Addu City last night.

The incident was reported to police around 21:30 last night and happened in Addu City's Feydhoo island. The elderly woman suffered injuries from a knife to three places in her hand and the attackers took her phone and some money afterward, according to police.

The woman is now receiving treatment at the hospital with the case being investigated by police.
