Disaster Management Authority donates 4 drones to MNDF

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has donated four drones to the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) to assist its humanitarian and rescue missions.

The drones were presented to MNDF in a ceremony held at MNDF headquarters Bandaara Koshi last Wednesday by NDMA’s chief executive Hisan Hassan, deputy chief executive Umar Moosa Fikry, and director general Safeenaz.

The drones were accepted on behalf of MNDF by Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal, Coastguard Commander Colonel Mohamed Saleem, and Fire and Rescue Commander Colonel Abdulla Ibrahim.

The drones were donated to boost the operational capacity of the military and disaster responsiveness. It will be used in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations and Search and Rescue (SAR) operations.
