MTCC contracted harbor and coastal protection project at Dhoonidhoo

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to a harbor construction and coastal protection project at K. Dhoonidhoo – currently used to run the State’s remand facility.

The MVR 51.4 million contract was signed by MTCC’s CEO Hassan Shah and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed in a ceremony held at the MTCC headquarters on Wednesday.

 MTCC reports the project entails removal of sand from a 4.61 hector area and reclaiming of 3.75 hectors of land.

It also entails construction of three breakwaters stretching 193 meters, 167 meters and 9.5 meters, as well as a revetment stretching 620 meters and a quay wall stretching 250 meters.
