Regional Alliance for Fostering Youth (RAFY) has kicked off a Global Youth Peace Ambassador Program (GYPA) training program in collaboration with Youth Ministry.
The ceremony to commence the program was attended by Gender Minister Shidhatha Shareef amongst youths and institutions both local and foreign.
The first-ever such program to be held on a world scale, the peace training program will be carried out until September 1 and will be participated by 200 youths from 29 countries.
Speakers from six countries will be taking part in the program. RAFY stated that a snorkeling session to increase the love for marine life and efforts to protect them named as “Snorkel for global peace – I am peace with marine life, stop littering” and a global peace youth walk will also be carried out within the program. The walk will be held tomorrow in Hulhumale’.
The ceremony to commence the GYPA, the president of RAFY Aishath Rafiyya stated that the program to train envoys from the Maldives and abroad to work for peace had gotten a lot of support. She also stated that this will be another important effort to establish peace throughout the world and thanked the partners and government institutions for supporting the program.
