MP for Nilandhoo Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has stated that even though he has concerns with PPM he will remain vigilant with PPM, ending rumors that he might join the government coalition party Jumhooree Party (JP).

Khaleel was speaking after the talks spread that he would sign for JP at the meeting held last night, however, he did not attend the meeting. He then tweeted today that he would visit members of PPM and hear their concerns and that change needs to come in the way the party is run to strengthen it.

"I am here vigilant with PPM. I do have concerns with the party," Khaleel, who had served as the secretary-general of the party stated.

However, his statement was refuted by the former Inguraidhoo MP Ibrahim Falah who joined JP last night and stated that it was arranged for Khaleel to sign for JP last night.

Journalists on the scene at the meeting also saw the meeting get postponed to facilitate Khaleel's arrival. It is not clear if Khaleel changed his mind at the last moment or whether the rumors surrounding him are false.

Some top members of the former administration had signed for JP last night including former vice president Abdulla Jihad, former Home Minister Ahmed Azleen, former PG leader of PPM and vice president of PNC Ahmed Nihan, former Kelaa MP Ali Arif, former Dhaandhoo MP Ahmed Assad, former Inguraidhoo MP Ibrahim Falah.
