Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has made the decision to open an inquiry into High Court judge Hussain Shahid over an ethical misconduct allegation filed against him at the commission.
The decision to proceed with an inquiry over the case was made by JSC at its meeting on Wednesday.
The commission, however, did not disclose the specific allegation against Shahid.
A former Criminal Court judge, Shahid was appointed to the High Court on July 24, 2018. He previously also served as a legal officer at the High Court, and as a magistrate at S. Feydhoo Court.
JSC also has an open investigation on the Chief Judge of High Court, Shujau Usman.
