President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the council members and heads of institutions of Fehendhoo in Baa Atoll as part of his trip to the Baa Atoll.
The councilors and leaders of Fehendhoo shared with the President the essential requirements needed to develop the island. The councilors highlighted the difficulties and challenges faced with the harbor, electricity, sewerage and medical sector on the island.
The councilors also shared views on how tourism can be developed on the island and the importance of installing an ATM on the island.
Other issues raised by the councilors include problems regarding ferry services and how to enhance the education standards on the island.
The President promised to work with the relevant authorities and institutions on solving these difficulties and gave the councilors details of how the government is planning to empower councils and also gave an estimate of when the latest projects planned on the island will begin.
In addition to Fehendhoo, President Solih will visit Fulhadhoo, Eydhafushi, Kihaadhoo, and Dhonfanu during his trip to Baa Atoll, and will hold meetings with councilors and heads of institutions on the islands. The President will attend and speak at the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Baa Atoll's medical services.
