Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has taken statements from Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi, Justice Adam Mohamed Abdulla and Justice Abdulla Areef in connection to two cases lodged against them at the commission.
‘Sun’ has been informed by a reliable source the commission has now taken statements from the three justices in connection to the cases.
One of the cases involves the decision by Supreme Court to confiscate paperwork connected to a court case filed against former deputy managing director of Public Service Media (PSM), Mohamed Ikram Abdul Latheef over an unpaid debt.
And the second case is questions over the independence of Chief Justice Didi, Justice Adam Mohamed Abdulla, and Justice Areef based on their decision to annul portions of a court order issued by Supreme Court on February 1, 2018, and the issuance of two contradicting court orders within the space of days.
