Hassan Luthfee – who had been serving as President of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) – has re-rendered his resignation.
Luthfee has originally rendered his resignation on June 25, in face of the impending no-confidence vote against him at the Parliament.
The original resignation letter, which he sent via email, had been missing his signature – leading to questions over its validity.
President’s Spokesperson, Ibrahim Hood confirms the President’s Office received a second resignation letter – which includes Luthfee’s signature – this Wednesday.
Luthfee had been on leave from ACC since February 10, and hadn’t returned back to work even after his leave expired over three months ago. He had, however, regularly withdrawn his salary.
Luthee is also under investigation by Maldives Police Service for money laundering.
