7 cases of voter list omissions submitted to High Court

Seven cases of omissions from the final voters list for the upcoming parliamentary elections has been submitted to the High Court.

The final voters list published by Elections Commission (EC) for the parliamentary elections lists 264,442 Maldivian citizens with the right to vote.

High Court confirms it has been submitted seven cases of omission from the final voters list by private citizens.

Legal proceedings in the seven cases has not yet been scheduled by the High Court.

‘Sun’ has been informed all seven cases originated from constituents from Th. Thimarafushi.

There are only six days remaining to the parliamentary elections – which is scheduled for April 6.

Elections Commission has begun transporting ballot boxes, ballot papers, and other items necessary for the elections to the atolls.
