ACC President Luthufy under investigation for money laundering

Maldives Police Service has launched as investigation into President of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Hassan Luthufy for money laundering.

MPS has provided confirmation Luthufy is under investigation for money laundering, but declined to comment any further.

Members of the ACC are reportedly involved in the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) embezzlement scandal, but the investigative report prepared by ACC into the case does not identify any ACC members as having been transferred embezzled funds in the case.

‘Sun’ has been informed Luthufy is currently in Malaysia.
