Highway accident: Car crushed; driver, passenger escape with minor injuries

A private car suffered extensive damages in an accident on the Hulhumale’ Highway in the pre-dawn hours of this Sunday.

Maldives Police Service says the case was reported to the authority at 3:05 am.

A media official from MPS who spoke to ‘Sun’ said the car had crashed through the Eastern fence of the highway, hit a lamp post and crashed into the seawall.

There were two people onboard the car when the accident took place, both of whom survived with only minor injuries.

MPS identified the driver as a 24-year-old man with a valid license.
