Labor Party running for 11 parliamentary seats

Newly registered Maldives Labor and Social Democratic Party has announced the intention of contending for 11 seats in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Labor Party announced the 11 districts in a statement this Tuesday. They are:

  1. H. Dh. Nolhivaram district
  2. Sh. Milandhoo district
  3. Lh. Hinnavaru district
  4. B. Eydhafushi district
  5. A. Dh. Maamingili district
  6. Th. Kinbidhoo district
  7. G. A. Dhaandhoo district
  8. S. Meedhoo district
  9. Vilimale’ district
  10. Hulhumale’ district
  11. South Henveyru district

Labor Party said the party’s candidates for the 11 districts will be announced in a ceremony held by the party soon.

The party also said it was conducting discussions with members who wish to contend for additional districts, and announced the opportunity to win the party’s tickets for additional districts remains open.

Parliamentary Elections 2019 is scheduled for April 6. The deadline for application is February 21.
