Fenaka Corporation reports power has been restored to Fuvamluah City after it suffered a power outage last Monday night due to a technical issue with the transformer used in the powerhouse.
Fenaka warns it is only a temporary fix.
Deputy Mayor of Fuvahmluah, Mohamed Lirar said an upgrade of the city’s power network was necessary in order to provide a permanent solution to the problem.
“Power is currently distributed via a 300-kilowatt transformer. The capacity needs to be increased to 500-kilowatts,” said Lirar.
Power went out from Fuvahmulah at sunset last Monday when the transformer used at the powerhouse exploded. Fenaka Corporation worked on a temporary fix and managed to restore power just after midnight.
