Construction Regulations Symposium ’19 begins

Discussions among stakeholders on draft of crucial Construction Regulations has been initiated with the opening of the Construction Regulations Symposium 2019 this Wednesday.

 The symposium was opened at the training room of STELCO at 9 am this Wednesday, and will continue until 4 pm.

Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure reports its will present the draft of Construction Regulations, and open it for opinion and discussion of professionals from the construction industry, organizations, and other stakeholders who are taking part in the symposium.

Stakeholders will also discuss possible challenges in implementing the regulations and solutions to the challenges.

Participants will also have the opportunity to suggest short term and long term measures to supplement the regulations, reports Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure.

Civil Court recently ordered the State to enact and release Construction Regulations by end of January, following a lawsuit filed by a group of local attorneys after the tragic death of Rawshan Jian, 8, in a construction accident in Male’ City in December.
