Suspect arrested in connection with Vishama’s death

Maldives Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a young woman in Hulhumale’.

Aishath Vishama, 27, from Hulhumale’ Muraka 7, was pronounced dead when she was taken to the Hulhumale’ Hospital last Friday.

The circumstances of her death has not been disclosed, and MPS reported this Thursday that the agency has a suspect in custody in connection with the death.

MPS has declined to confirm when the suspect was arrested or any details regarding the case as it is an open investigation.

MPS is also investigating the unexpected death of a young man in Male’ City on Saturday night.
