Maumoon to India for medical treatment

Former Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has left for India on a medical trip.

Maumoon and his spouse, Nasreena Ibrahim, left for Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, this Saturday morning.

Maumoon, one of the four government coalition leaders, announced in a tweet the purpose of his trip was medical, and that he will return in a few weeks.
