Name change for Department of Special Needs Education

The Department of Special Needs Education, run under the Education Ministry, has been renamed as the Department of Inclusive Education.

The President’s Office said that the name was changed last Thursday on 13 December. And some changes have been made to the work done by the department.

And so the Department of Inclusive Education will be providing technical assistance to the schools to provide inclusive education to all the students. The new education body will also be providing the resources needed to provide education to the national curriculum,

The Department of Inclusive Education will also be working with international organizations to cultivate an inclusive culture and advocate for accessibility in educational institutes and work to create public awareness in regards to higher education in the field of inclusive education.
