Indian navy ship in Maldives for joint EEZ surveillance

INS Rana, a Rajput-class destroyer of the Indian navy has arrived in Maldives for a joint surveillance patrol with the Maldives National Defense Force.

MNDF reports INS Rana will be conducting joint surveillance patrol of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Maldives with MNDF’s Coastguard.

MNDF reports the Joint EEZ surveillance of Maldives is a serial joint operation by Indian navy and MNDF to check for any illegal activities within the EEZ.

INS Rana will conclude the operation and depart from Maldives on December 14.
