The no confidence motion against the Prosecutor General, Aishath Bisham, is being pushed at the parliament again.
Same as before, the motion was filed by the MP for Thinadhoo constituency, Abdulla Ahmed, and this time, it was based on eight reasons.
MP Abdulla Ahmed said that the Prosecutor General has failed at the responsibilities charged to her by the law.
The eight points raised by the MP include granting police requests to arrest MPs without confirming if they have enough for an arrest along with the Prosecutor General remaining silent even after the MPs were being arrested outside the regulation for the arrests.
The MP also raised that the PG did not take any action while MPs were detained in police custody for a long time and unlawfully extending remands of the MPs.
While the MPs supporting the government has filed the no confidence motion against the Prosecutor General, the government coalition also has the majority at the parliament.
