Siyam appointed Honorary Consul of South Korea

South Korean Ambassador to Maldives and Sri Lanka, Heon Lee (R) hands Ahmed Siyam Mohamed (L) his letter of appointment as Honorary Consul of South Korea on November 17, 2018.

Chairman of Sun Siyam Group, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has been appointed Honorary Consul of South Korea in Maldives.

Siyam was appointed Honorary Consul of South Korea in a function held at Hotel Jen this Saturday.

The letter of appointment was handed to him by South Korean Ambassador to Maldives and Sri Lanka, Heon Lee.

In a letter endorsing Siyam’s appointment, South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha wrote that Siyam was selected based on his capabilities and confidence.

The ceremony was attended by Consular – Deputy Chief of Mission of South Korean Embassy in Sri Lanka Janghyun Kuk and Consular Assistant Suzy Choi, and well as Directors of Sun Siyam Group MP Ali Mauroof and Aishath Rafiyya.

Maldives and South Korea established official bilateral ties on November 30, 1966.
