Bridge and some roads to be closed in Male’ city

As the inauguration of Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as the President is set to take place tomorrow, Maldives Police Service has said that some roads in Male’ City along with the Sina-Male’ Bridge will be closed today and tomorrow.

While the preparation are underway at the National Stadium for the inauguration, Traffic Police said that today and tomorrow, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., some roads around the stadium and parts of Boduthakurufaanu Magu towards the Izzuddeen Jetty will be closed.

And the roads will be closed from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. these two days in the following areas:

Boduthakurufaanu Magun from BML to Dharubaaruge, Majeedhee Magu from Sosun Magu to Henveiru Artificial Beach and the Sina-Male’ Bridge.

The inauguration ceremony of Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as the President is set for 5 p.m. tomorrow. Invitees are to arrive between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and are advised to arrive as early as possible.

 

While many foreign dignitaries are set to attend the inauguration, the highest ranking official at the ceremony will be the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who is on his first visit to the Maldives.
