A second suspect – a 21-year-old male - has been arrested in connection with the stabbing which took place in Fuvahmulah City last Wednesday night.
Maldives Police Service says the second suspect was arrested on Wednesday night, following the arrest of the first suspect – a 15-year-old male.
Ahmed Inan Ibrahim, 17, from Ultra in Maadhandu district of Fuvahmulah City, was stabbed as he lay on his bed with his laptop open at approximately 8:50 pm.
Inan’s father reported to ‘Sun’ that the Fuvahmulah Hospital has informed the family they are not equipped to treat his injuries, and that the family is getting ready to have him transported to Male’ City for the additional treatment he needs.
Manager of Fuvahmulah Hospital, Mohamed Faruzaadh reported the 17-year-old was stabbed in five places in his head alone, puncturing his skull. He also has additional stab wounds on his arms and legs, says Faruzaadh.
“And very deeply in some places,” said Faruzaadh.
Inan’s father reports Inan was in his bedroom with two of his friends. And that the attack was carried out by two masked individuals who barged into his bedroom.
