Opposition to impeach President Yameen

MPs of the Opposition Coalition has decided to bring a No Confidence Motion against the current President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to the Parliament floor.  

MP for Dhihdhoo constituency, Abdul Latheef Mohamed told Sun Media tonight that a number of MPs are considering an impeachment against the President and are working on it.  

The MP for Ihavandhoo constituency, Mohamed Abdulla (Muhanma) said that President Yameen should not be allowed to be the president a day longer. And every day as the president is another opportunity for evidences of such crimes as corruption could be destroyed according to the Ihavandhoo MP. 

Muhanma said that the people do not want to give the opportunity to the President to flee the country. He said that people want to hold the President responsible for the crimes that took place in his presidency.  

He said that after the impeachment, an open, transparent trial will be held in front of the people. 

MP Muhanma said that he believes that President Yameen is a criminal by his own admission and so the police and the security forces must arrest him when the term comes to an end.
