Ministry of Finance and Treasury has offered the opportunity for President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Ibu) to prepare the Projected State Budget for 2019.
In a statement this Monday, Ministry of Finance and Treasury noted that the Finance Act instructs the government to prepare a projected budget and submit it to the People’s Majlis two months before the beginning of the next financial year.
It noted that the ministry started work in conjunction with State offices to prepare the projected State budget for 2019 in March, and that it has been working on completing the work and submitting the budget by October 31.
Ministry of Finance and Treasury wrote in the statement that it was important that the incoming administration, which will be running the State in 2019, include its policies in the Projected State Budget for 2019. And that it has therefore asked President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Ibu) to prepare the Projected State Budget to include details on administrative amendments and new policies as the deadline for budget submission falls before the beginning of the next presidential term.
It also offered technical assistance to Ibu to prepare the budget.
