79 percent of Maabaidhoo harbor completed

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed 79 percent of the Laamu atoll Maabaidhoo harbor project. 

The project was contracted to MTCC on 21 April 2013 under which a 210 meter by 78 meter harbor on the west of the island along with a 275 meter outer sea wall. The project also includes revetment as well.

Regarding the project, the Head of Projects at MTCC, Mohamed Husham said that three parts of the quay wall and the pavement has been completed along with the drainage system and the lamp installation. 

He said that the remaining portion of the project is making the shallow ends deeper in the lagoon of which 30 percent has been completed. And 70 percent of the outer sea wall has been completed and the harbor will be completed and handed to the state in July. 

The government funded project is worth MVR 45 million.
