Oman Air to resume flights in October

After stopping their flights to the Maldives in 2016, Oman Air has decided to resume flights this year. 

The national airline of Oman initially began flights to the Maldives in 2009 between Muscat and Male'. The flights were stopped several times until 2016. 

And after Oman Air stopped their flights to the Maldives in 2016, the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) too said that Oman Air has no plans to resume flights to the Maldives. Then Country Manager for Oman Air had confirmed this to Sun Media at the time. 

However, the Air Journal from France reported that according to CEO of Oman Air, Abdul Aziz Al Raisi, Oman Air has decided to resume flights to the Maldives. 

Oman Air has ordered 30 planes of Boeing 737 Max 8 and while the first five of those planes are expected to be received before the end of the year, their flights to the Maldives is set to use those planes. The Boeing 737 Max 8 has 12 Business Class seats and 150 Economy seats. 

The CEO of Oman Air said that their European customers get to experience Oman on their way to the beautiful beaches of the Maldives.

As this month of June began, Oman Air has started flights to Istanbul, Turkey. And next month, they are set to begin flights to Casablanca, Morocco and to Moscow, Russia, in late October.
