SAARC discusses economic unity in the region

The Development Fund of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) has held a discussion with the Secretary General of SAARC to unite the economies of the SAARC region. 

SAARC Development Fund is a dedicated branch of association that focuses on improving the quality of life in the region fight poverty. It was established in 2010 with three windows; Social, Economic and Infrastructure. All the countries in SAARC are provided funds by the SAARC Development Fund (SDF). 

Secretary General of SAARC, Amjed Hussain B. Sial, visited the SDF branch in Thimphu, Bhutan, and met with it's CEO, Dr. Sunil Motiwal. 

SDF said that all of their departments gave the latest update to the Secretary General and the CEO, Dr. Motiwal presented the latest on the newest window of SDF, the Infrastructure Window. 

And the two discussed opportunities to unite economies in the region as cross-border connectivity projects in fields such as renewable energy and providing funds for such opportunities from the SDF. 

The SAARC Secretary General spoke on the challenges in peaceful corporation in the region. He also praise the efforts of the SDF in increasing the wealth of the people of the SAARC region.
