3rd Sun Aqua resort, Iru Veli to open in October

The third tourist resort of Sun Siyam Resort’s brand, Sun Aqua, the 5-star premium all-inclusive resort Sun Aqua Iru Veli is scheduled to open in October.

The Sun Aqua Iru Veli is built on the island Aluvifushi, located near Dh. Bandidhoo. The resort is a 40-minute seaplane ride away from Velana International Airport.

The resort has beach villas, water villas and suites totaling 125 luxury rooms; each with a private pool.

Executive Director at Sun Siyam Resorts, Zuleykha Manik (Zuley) says the Iru Veli guarantees the utmost privacy for its guests. In order to ensure the guests staying at the resort the utmost privacy, back of the house operations and accommodation for team members will be arranged in a separate island located nearby.

Another unique selling point if the resort, says Zuley, is the indoor pools built in the beach villas targeting Middle Eastern tourists.

The resort has a large communal pool, a recreation center with top-of-the-line resources, a water sports center, a kids’ club, and an over-water spa.

The resort also has three restaurants and two bars which offer both local and world-class international cuisine.

One of the restaurants is open 24/7 and offers an international menu, one is a grill restaurant on the beach which serves fresh seafood, and one is an over-water restaurant which offers Italian cuisine.

Zuley said the Sun Siyam Resorts participated in travel and trade fairs held in Berlin, London and Manchester this year to promote and market the new resort.

She said promotional activities will be held in Tokyo, Japan this Monday, and additional promotional activities will be held in China and South Korea as well as other countries during the next couple of months.

The Sun Aqua Iru Veli will become the fifth resort by Sun Siyam Resorts and its third property under the brand Sun Aqua.
