Supreme Court sides with Villa in 5 tourism-related cases

The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Villa Group in five travel and tourism-related cases.

The cases involve G. Dh. Gazeera, R. Maanenfushi, Th. Elaa, K. Boludhuffaru, Vaavehdhi Falhu, an additional unnamed lagoon in between, K. Maadhiggaru Falhu, and K. Kanuhuraa Finolhu – leased to Villa Group for development for tourism.

The properties were later repossessed by the government.

 

Following a lawsuit filed by Villa Group, the Civil Court ordered the government to return the properties to Villa as the properties were repossessed in violation of the contract between the two parties.
